Christophers

The Berimbau

Slightly off-centre, on the first floor of the Scuba Centre, this restaurant offers you a magnificent sea view. International cuisine at lunchtime, from the buffet. Watlings

Available all day and evening (during bar opening hours) in all the bars in the Resort (including the nightclub). The Verve Lounge and Liquid Bar

Between the pool and the theatre, this bar offers you two quite different atmospheres: inside, the warm ambience of its magnificent intimate salons, and outside, a fabulous view over the pool with the sea in the background. The Azul

With its panoramic sea view, this sea bar and terrace on stilts welcomes you all day long. Snacks served all day.

The Beacon and Zao Bar

On the ground floor of the Scuba Centre, this bar offers you two different ambiences: on one side, its a spectacular spot from which to admire the fabulous sunsets, on the other side, the nightclub is buzzing all night long. The Beacon Bars spacious terrace is a smoking area. List of equipment :

Payment options at the Resort

Currency: Bahamian dollar, USD

The Carte Blanche internal payment card. You can charge all purchases made anywhere in the Resort during your stay to this card (you must first open an account at Reception). Issued against a credit card imprint: Visa, Club Med Amex, Amex or Mastercard.

Other means of payment:

Currency exchange at the reception: USD and EUR (it is preferable to bring USD with you).

Vaccinations and medical treatment. It is your responsibility to check all the necessary formalities before departure. Vaccinations recommended:

Mosquitos can transmit certain viral or parasitic diseases, so the use of tropical mosquito repellents for the skin and clothing is recommended. The Resort has a resident nurse and a doctor specialised in problems related to Scuba diving. Local clinic for regular treatments 5 minutes from the Resort, and hospital at Nassau, an hour's flight from the Resort. Hospital (Nassau) : 1 hour by plane from the Village.

Towns or cities nearby:

Cockburn Town is a 15-minute walk from the Resort. The Resort is located on the island of San Salvador. To get to Nassau (on another island), you need to take a domestic flight. One flight per day, journey time 45 minutes.

Climate

The weather is usually nice in the Bahamas : clear sky, sunny, cool breezes help to relieve the heat. Sea fronts may be cold from December to April. Cool nights from January to April. The hottest period is between may and the end of August - it is during this period that most of the rains fall ; however they will not spoil the GMs'holidays because most of the time they fall at the end of the day or during the night. The climate is then warm and damp. The archipelago of the Bahamas can be hit by hurricanes ; they generally occur in September or in October but sometimes from August.

Temperature of the sea : During Winter months the water is sometimes cool : 20-22 °C / 68-71,6 °F. In Summer the sea is very warm : its temperature can reach 29°C / 84,2°F in August.

450 yards of magnificent public beach of fine white sand running alongside the Resort. Defined swimming area. The sea floor slopes sharply.
