La Gargoulette

The Calypso

In a relatively quiet part of the Resort, this magnificent seafront restaurant has a delightful shady terrace. Buffet service for a wide selection of international dishes, ideal for dining with family or friends. Open at certain dates, from July. Tables must be booked in the evening, through the hostess staff. The restaurant has a Baby Zone for preparing babys meals. Smoking is permitted on the terrace. List of equipment :

BABY CORNER special service

There is a Baby Zone in the Resorts general buffet restaurant (La Pergola), and also in the Calypso Restaurant, with a special baby menu (sweet and savoury baby foods - vegetable dishes only -, fresh and stewed fruit and yoghourts) and all the equipment necessary for preparing babys meals (microwave, mixer, steriliser, etc). Highchairs are also available.

Bars:

Available all day and evening (during bar opening hours) in all the bars in the Resort (including the nightclub). “Have a taste of everything” Resort. On the island of Djerba, close to Houmt Souk, the mythical Club Med Resort of Djerba la Douce enjoys constant sunshine, a clear blue sea and a fine stretch of beach flanked by coconut palms. Sophie Jacqmin took her inspiration for the Hotel Calypso’s new decor from the region’s famous Kilim rugs. The walls and floors are enhanced by the ochre tones of these woven wonders, while the new lights, inspired by reels of thread, dispense their brightly coloured rays. The magic of the Orient radiates throughout this charming family resort.

Beach

Public beach of fine sand, 1.8 kms (1 mile) long. The seabed slopes very gently. The sea is hot in summer but cold in winter. Defined bathing area. Beach equipped with deckchairs, parasols and showers.

Parks and Gardens

Gardens consisting mainly of eucalyptus, hibiscus, lantana and vast lawns.
