BABY CORNER special service

This Baby Zone, in the Resorts general buffet restaurant, has sweet and savoury baby foods and all the necessary equipment for preparing your babys meals.

Cachoeira and Sao Felix (1 day)

This small city is a splendid example of Brazils Baroque architecture, with roads and houses from the 17th century. It lies on the edge of the Rio Paraguaçu and at the foot of the hills. Visit the Danneman cigar factory. It is the richest region of the state known as Recôncavo Baiano because of Brazils new Oil route.

Dos Frades Islands (1/2 day)

Recommended by the Excursions desk. One of the largest islands in the Bay of All The Saints with beaches and pristine waters and a fishing village with local crafts. Open-bar and fruit included. A pleasant morning with snorkelling. For your information

Itaparica city tour (1/2 day)

Visit the ruins of the 3rd church ever built in Brazil, dating from the 16th century. The fountain of youth, the fort of São Lourenço and the historic town of Itaparica. For information:

Morro da São Paulo (1 day)

Recommended by our Excursions desk. A fortress built in 1830 welcomes the visitor arriving at Morros da Sao Paulo. Walk on the beach (1500 yards): sandy coves glistening in the sun, dominated by imposing forests and palm trees; deserted beaches with natural pools and sandbacks at low tide. Transport by bus and speedboat

Salvador city tour (1 day)

Recommended by our Excursions desk. A guided tour of the great city of Salvador, a melting-pot of cultures full of fascinating history. Visits to the churches of Bonfim and Saint Francis of Assises, the Fort of Mont Serrat, the Barra lighthouse and its famous beach. Lunch at a churrascaria. In the afternoon, visit Pelourinho, a typical area of the city that also boasts remains of its colonial past. For your information

Salvador da Bahia Carnival

The Salvador da Bahia Carnival will take place from 21 to 25 February 2009. Outings will be organised each day by the Excursions desk, to watch the parades.

Salvador flash (1/2 day)

Free time in Pélourinho and at the arts and crafts market. No guide. For your information

Salvador folk ballet (evening)

An unforgettable dinner with a subtle blend of African, French and Brazilian flavours and a fabulous show by the Bahia folk ballet. Capoeira, Samba and Maculele, for an evening of fun and frenzy. For your information

Valença and the Dende coast (1 day)

Four centuries old, Valença is located between the river and the sea, the main economic and agricultural centre of the Cote du Dendê. Visit to a palm oil factory, guided tour of the town and market. Typical lunch and visit to a cocoa bean and clove farm.

Getting to the Resort

For clients who have not bought the transport package. Airport / Resort transfer by taxi and boat. Transfer takes around 2 hours. 50-minute taxi ride followed by ferry crossing (around 50 minutes) and another 15 minutes taxi ride.* Price : Summer 2008 (prices given as an indication, subject to exchange rate):

Enjoy your passion for sports Resort. Amid tropical greenery, home to iguanas and brightly coloured birds, a Resort that combines African exoticism with South American exuberance. A vast array of activities – sailing, tennis, golf, to name but a few – await you on this island, just an hour’s boat ride from Salvador da Bahia. The fine sandy beach is the perfect place to dance the night away to the wild rhythms of the samba and Bahian percussions, before returning to your cosy bungalow in its tranquil location in or near the coconut grove.

Beach

This public beach is a 300-yard stretch of fine sand. Thanks to the gently sloping sea floor the coral barrier can be reached withougt going out of your depth (we advise you to wear shoes to walk through the water because of the coral). The tide goes out a long way (around 200 yards.)

This beach is equipped with deckchairs and showers.
