Grande-Terre by jeep (1/2 day)
Discover the eastern zone of the island, to the Pointe des Châteaux: the sugar plantations, the Damoiseau distillery and the colonial house, Zevallos.
La Desirade by ferry (1 day)
The fishermen's island in the Guadeloupe archipelago is well-preserved. Its fauna, flora, tradition and history will charm you as much as its beaches. Swim in the lagoon (Fifi) followed by lunch by the water's edge.
La Soufrière walk (1 day)
A ramble high over the Lesser Antilles including an off-the-beaten-track climb up this volcano that holds a certain air of mystery that you will find unique.

Tropical adventure (1 day)
A wonderful day out to discover the luxuriant nature of Guadeloupe, stopping at the Cascades aux Ecrevisses waterfalls followed by a visit to the Parc des Mamelles for a "tree-top walk". Lunch in the botanical gardens of Deshaies - formerly owned by French comedian Coluche - where you can admire over a thousand species of tropical plants and flowers.

Climate
The best period to go to the West Indies is from December to May. Temperatures are very pleasant ; not too hot with lots of sun and occasional thundery showers. The rainy season lasts from mid-July to November. October is the most humid month, showers are fierce and spectacular but do not last long. Windy in July and August.
Temperature of the sea : In the West Indies you can swim the whole year round in a delicious tepid water : the temperature can reach 28°C (82,4°F) from July to October and does not fall under 26°C (78,8°F) during the dry season.

Have a taste of everything Resort. Thirty years ago in Guadeloupe, on Grande-Terre near colourful Pointe-à-Pitre, Club Med® selected one of the island’s most beautiful fine, golden sand beaches to establish its Resort. Renovated in the tropical spirit of the Caribbean, lying by the emerald-green sea, La Caravelle gives you a taste of water sports and farniente in privilged surroundings. Beach

Based on "Grande Terre", along one of the Caribbean's most beautiful golden sandy beaches, the Club Med Village counts 326 rooms spread out across several buildings. "Les Saintes": set of one-level bungalows, in a more isolated location, near the speciality restaurant and the beach. The "Marie Galante" hotel, a two-storey building, with no lift and the "Basse Terre" and "Grande Terre" hotels. In the "Basse Terre" hotel, rooms are split between five floors with a lift. The 4th and 5th floors have a sea view. The first two floors only offer a garden view. In the "Grande Terre" hotel, rooms are split between two floors, with no lift, and with a garden or sea view.
