The 3 Club Med Resorts at Marrakech have 3 restaurants, open to all G.M®s, whatever Resort they're staying at, at no extra cost (N.B: booking is compulsory in certain restaurants).

L'Oliveraie

On the 1st floor of the Medina, this restaurant welcomes you at all mealtimes for a wide selection of international dishes. Its salons and terrace make a beautifully intimate setting. A selection of Mediterranean dishes are proposed à la carte in the evening. The restaurant is also open for late lunch after an excursion or a round of golf. Tables must be booked in the evening, at Reception. Waiter service for lunch and dinner.

La Palmeraie

At the heart of La Palmermaie, this international buffet restaurant is the ideal place to relax with friends. The various salons offer a variety of local ambiences. Golfers will appreciate the late-lunch service specially propseed for them. The terrace, surrounded by ponds and flowering shrubs, is the perfect place to enjoy the gentle Moroccan climate. The restaurant has a baby corner where parents can prepare their babies' meals.

Bars:

Available all day and evening (during bar opening hours) in all the bars in the Resort.

Drinks included(served by the glass and in the bars only) : Water, fruit juices, sodas, hot drinks, cocktails with and without alcohol, local and/or international spirits, wines. Sweet and savoury snacks

Drinks not included: Champagne, VSOP and XO spirits, bottled and canned drinks (available in certain Resorts from vending machines and/or the Club Med boutique®), certain super-premium brands and bottled wines proposed à la carte in some of our restaurants and bars.

Le Medina

Enjoy the "Casbah" ambience in this spacious bar in the heart of the Medina. Small oriental salons, tapestries, local pottery and wrought iron sculpture: pure Moroccan tradition. In the evening, the lounge ambience and piano bar are a wonderful way to relax. Snacks served.

L'Ourika

A unique bar on the rooftops of the Medina under a vast Berber tent. Spectacular view from the terrace over Jemaa el-Fnâ on one side and La Koutoubia on the other.

Le Pacha

In the centre of La Palmeraie, near the swimming pool, a bar where you can meet up with friends and family to go over the events and high spots of the day. Open day time and evenings, serves snacks (tea time and appetizers) and late breakfast.

For those who want to be sure they make the most of the excursions, we propose a Combined programme with two excursions:

• Upper Atlas in a 4x4 (1 day)
• Alternative Marrakech (1/2 day) Dates (the two are not interchangeable) will be given on arrival at the Resort.

Essaouira (one day)

Recommended by our Excursions desk. Ancient Mogador, the city built in the 18th century by the sultan Sidi Mohamed ben Abdellah. This white city with blue shutters and blue doors has stunning Vauban-style fortifications. At Essaouira*, discover all the different districts: the jewellers and thuya marquetry quarters, the mellah (Jewish quarter), the Berber market... * Site registered on the UNESCO World Heritage list. Gardens of Marrakech (half-day)

Ride out in a horse-drawn carriage to discover the Majorelle garden, a haven of peace in the middle of the modern city and the work of a French painter it is named after. A short tour of the KOUTOUBIA gardens and, to round off the day, a visit to the famous MENARA olive grove with its 18th century pavilion and its man-made lake from the 12th century. For information:

Kasbah of Télouet, and Ouarzazate (2 days)

Through the Upper Atlas mountains via the highest mountain road pass in Morocco. Visit to the Kasbah at Télouet, the favourite residence of the former pasha of Marrakech. Through the Berber valley of Ounila (the former route of the gold and slave caravans) leading to the Ksar of Aït Ben Haddou*. After the Reg (desert of stone), discover the Fint Oasis and take part in a mint tea ceremony with the locals. Visit to the Kasbah in Taourirt, another residence of the Lord of the Atlas. * Site registered on the UNESCO World Heritage list.

Monuments of Marrakech (1/2 day)

Barouche (horse drawn carriage) ride for a guided tour of the main monuments of the city: The Saad tombs (17th century royal necopolis), the Dar Si Said museum and the Bahia palace. On the return journey, stop off at a carpet cooperative. For your information:

Ouarzazate and Kzar Aït Ben Haddou (1 day)

Cross the imposing High Atlas mountain chain via Tichka, the highest mountain road pass in Morocco (2260 m), with frequent stops to admire the view on the most beautiful road in Morocco. Visit to Ksar (fortified village) at AIT BEN HADDOU, an ancient caravanserai regsitered by UNESCO as a World Heritage site; Moroccan lunch, visit to the Kasbah at TAORIRTE, the home of the powerful EL GLAOUI family during the first half of the 20th century. Ourika Valley (1 day)

Visit the Majorelle gardens, the former property of Yves St Laurent then head south for the northern foothills of the Upper Atlas mountains. Drive through Berber villages in the valley. Moroccan lunch in a restaurant. Return to Marrakech via the famous Menara basin. For your information

Quad-biking (1/2 day)

If you love freedom and open spaces, go quad-biking to discover the area around Marrakech, through wadis, olive groves and arid expanses.

Souks of Marrakech (1/2 day)

Travel through time as you visit North Africas most famous souks*. Visit the various trade guilds: copperware manufacturers, dye workshops, ironware merchants etc. Visit Medersa Ben Youssef, a former Koranic school, souvenir stalls and a herbalists store. *Site registered on the UNESCO World Heritage list. Tadelakt (1/2 day)

Learn more about an ancestral tradition covering the walls of palaces and riads. Tadelakt is a preparation based on lime and natural pigments whose texture and the "roundness" it can achieve make it ideal for walls, bathrooms, Turkish baths and, more recently, decorative objects. For your information

The Ouzoud Falls (1 day)

Cross the agricultural plains around Marrakech. Stop at Demnate, at the Imi NIfri cave, then on to the waterfalls, in hilly and mountainous terrain. Lunch. Free time to explore the site.

The Palm Grove in a horse-drawn carriage (evening)

Enjoy a ride through the Palmeraie in a horse-drawn carriage in the cool evening air "with friends or family".

Upper Atlas (one day)

Excursion recommended by our Excursions desk. Discover the Berber civilisations of the Moroccan Upper Atlas region and admire the amazing contrasts in colours and odours. Take traditional mint tea with a local family. See the Lalla Takerkoust dam. Discovery of the Ourika and Asni valleys. For your information
