Le Riad

BABY CORNER special service

This Baby Zone, in the Resorts general buffet restaurant, proposes sweet and savoury baby foods and dairy products, and the equipment to prepare your babies meals (mixer and microwave). High chairs available.

Bars:

Available all day and evening (during bar opening hours) in all the bars in the Resort (including the nightclub). Drinks included(served by the glass and in the bars only) : Water, fruit juices, sodas, hot drinks, cocktails with and without alcohol, local and/or international spirits, wines. This Club Med Spa has 2 individual treatment rooms. In a warm and friendly treatment room, discover some innovative or more traditional massage techniques. Relax in the hands of our expert masseurs, who will stimulate specific energy points and ease tense muscles. Chaouen (1 day)

Recommended by our Excursions desk. Take the time to experience Chaouen, the pearl of the Rif and one of the seven wonders of Morocco. In the morning, visit one of Moroccos holy medinas and the kasbah, a national heritage site, with its regional art museum, Andalusian garden, wash-houses and watermill. Lunch in a 19th-century riad. In the afternoon, visit the weaving workshops that have made the towns reputation; time for shopping. For your information

Tangier (1 day)

Recommended by our Excursions desk. At the extreme north-western tip of Africa, Tangier** is a magical place where the Atlantic meets the Mediterranean and legend meets history. Cap Spartel, the Caves of Hercules, the kasbah, the medina and the Grand Socco are all wonderful sites to visit. With its Berber and Andalousian style, its souks and Jewish and Moorish areas, the city has a wealth of secrets, fragrances and delicate flavours to discover.** UNESCO World Heritage Site For your information

The Bay of Tamuda in a catamaran (à la carte)

This catamaran, 12 metres by 7 (40 x 23 ft), is a great way of exploring the coast around Tétouan. Between Sebta and Cabo Negro there are lots of unspoilt creeks, and the Rif mountains rise straight out of the Mediterranean. You might be lucky enough to spot some dolphins. You can book the catamaran for a private outing with family or friends, maximum 10 people.

Tétouan (1/2 day)

Discover Granadas "favourite daughter", the city of Tétouan**, with its mountain peaks, its Berber and Andalusian styles, its medina and souks, its Jewish and Moorish areas. ** UNESCO World Heritage Site For information:

Tétouan - Chaouen (1 day)

The capital of northern Morocco will welcome you with its highly refined decor of patios, public baths and souks where every alleyway takes you into a new world. Discover the local gastronomy, in the only Riad ranked as a historical monument. Tetouan, holy city and symbol of Berber resistance, is a UNESCO world heritage site. Chaouen, perched high in the Rif mountains, is a picturesque blue and white village which cant fail to charm you with its strong Mediterranean identity. For information:

Walk in the Rif (1/2 day)

A short trek (on footpaths) to discover the hinterland around Tétouan, and the Rif mountains. Mint tea served by the natural sprint at an Zarka. For information:

If you choose a package with transport, the price is inclusive of the return air fare and transfers to and from the Resort.

Getting to the Resort

For customers who have not bought the transport package. Airport / Resort, transfer by bus Transfer from Tétouan airport to the Resort takes around 30 minutes. Transfer from Tangiers airport to the Resort takes around 1 hour 45 minutes *Price : Summer 2008 (given as an indication, subject to exchange rate):Tétouan 70 Dirhams, around 7 Euros per person each way Tangiers 120 Dirhams, around 12 Euros per person each way. Airport / Resort, transfer by taxi. Transfer from Tétouan airport to the Resort takes around 20 minutes. “Have a taste of everything” Resort. Close to Tangiers, on Morocco’s Mediterranean coast, the Club Med Smir Resort has been delighting young and old for over 30 years with its fabulous 19 hectares of grounds running along the edge of an immense white sandy beach. In a wonderful climate of sun and gentle breeze, the Resort’s bungalows and its two hotels, Le Riad and Le Manar, have fine examples of forged ironwork. You’ll be enchanted by Moroccan art de vivre as you relax around the pool; your more energetic moments will be taken up with water sports and excursions* into the surrounding area.
