Principal activities : Based on agriculture, the Senegalese economy has been dependent on groundnuts for over a century, even if it has also turned to rice and cotton Since the 1980s income from fish exports has overtaken the income from groundnuts. Tourism represents 10 % of the country's income.
Principal partners: France, Nigeria, Cameroon, Ivory Coast, Mali, Algeria, China and Japan.

Health

- Medical assistance in the Village:
* a nurse is present at defined schedules in the Village,
* first necessity medicine for sale
* first-aid kits are at disposal in the different services of the Village and at the reception desk
* on request: medical examination with a local doctor (at extra cost)

- Medical assistance outside the Club:
* pharmacies in N'gor (at about 5 km/ 3.1 miles from the Village)
* general and specialized doctors, hospitals and clinics in Dakar (at 20 km/ 12.4 miles from the Village)

- Strongly recommended vaccinations:
* Diphtheria
* Tetanus
* Polio
* Typhoid
* Hepatitis A and B

- Advice:
* The vaccination against yellow fever is compulsory even in the absence of administrative obligation (the vaccination is valid for ten years and can be done at least ten days before the departure).
* Vaccinations against Meningitis A and C can be advised - please ask for information before departure.

- Paludism:
* paludal endemic area in its major form (falciparum) strict preventive measures are necessary.
* Some parasitic diseases can be circulated by mosquito bites. The use of skin and clothing insect repellents is strongly recommended in some periods of the year.

Cholera is endemic in Senegal. Vulnerable people are the natives who live in poor health conditions. The Prevention is as follows : regularly wash your hands with cleansed or clean water and drink cap bottled water only outside the Village, don't eat uncooked or unpeeled food outside the Village.
