Berber villages (1 day) « From the top of this mountain, I admired the citadel. At the sight of the mosque, I thought of the legend of the seven sleepers. In this region, I discovered the Berber people."

As you come round the bend of a winding round on the southern plateau, the splendid Berber village of Guermessa comes into sight. Built on two hills, the ruins of this ancient village served as a bastion against the enemy. You'll be faxcinated by the mosque and its curious legendary tombs of the seven sleepers. Continue your exploration of Berber culture at the market at Tataouine.

The strange and ghostly Ksour region in the hills of Djebel Dahar is a cradle of Berber culture. You'll adore the souk at Tataouine, a tranquil little Far West-style village, and the Berber village of Chenini, with its houses hollowed out of the rock face that are slowly sinking into the ground. After lunch you'll visit the fortified granaries of Ksar-Hadada clustered like honeycomb in a beehive

During these two days in the Reg (desert of stone), you'll be literally enchanted by the beauty of Ksar Hallouf and its fabulous ghorfas. The camel ride takes you to the majestic dunes of the Sahara. A night in a Bedouin camp will allow you to observe the profound silence and ever-changing beauty of the desert. The next day, discover the village of Tamezret and the troglodyte village of Matmata where "Star Wars" was shot.

Island tour (1/2 day) "I loved this gentle island, admired the skill of its artisans and discovered the charm of the souks".

You'll fall under the spell of this island with its vast diversity of ethnic groups and religions, unique in Tunisia. Travel through orchards, olive groves and palm groves, to the museum of popular arts and traditions. At Guellala you'll be charmed by the master potter as he shapes the clay with his fingers in front of you. At the Synagogue of El Ghriba you'll see one of the oldest Torahs in the world, and have time to do some shopping in the island's charming capital.

You'll cross the stony desert to discover the legendary habitat of the Amazigh Berbers.

Zarzis market (1/2 day) "Just the other side of the Roman road you'll be charmed by this fishing village, with its traditional market stalls."

From the little port lined with date trees, olive trees and beautiful beaches, take the Roman road to the Zarzis peninsula. You'll have free time to visit the traditional market with fruit and vegetables, spices and animals. Authentic Tunisia.
